Terms of Use

Last updated: May 2026  ·  Effective from: May 2026

Summary (plain language) QueenDash is a free chess data platform. Use it, enjoy it, don't abuse it. Don't scrape the API at scale, don't try to hack us, don't impersonate others. We provide the service as-is and can suspend access if you violate these terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using QueenDash (queendash.com, "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users and any other persons who access the Service.

2. Description of the Service

QueenDash is a chess data aggregation and visualisation platform that provides:

  • FIDE official rating rankings (Standard, Rapid, Blitz, Women) with historical data.
  • Live tournament standings and game results sourced from Lichess broadcasts and official FIDE communications.
  • Historical results from World Chess Championships, Candidates Tournaments, Chess Olympiads and World Rapid & Blitz Championships.
  • Game analysis powered by Stockfish 16 (open-source chess engine).
  • An interactive world map of FIDE-registered players by country.
  • Player profiles for selected elite players.
  • Optional personal accounts for saving preferences and linking platform usernames.

The core Service is provided free of charge and does not require registration. Optional premium features may be introduced in the future; they will always be clearly marked and voluntary.

3. User accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information during registration.
  • Not create accounts using automated means or under false identities.
  • Not share your account credentials with others.
  • Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable regulations.
  • Scrape, crawl or systematically download data from QueenDash APIs or web pages at a rate that imposes unreasonable load on our infrastructure. Fair personal use (a few hundred requests per day) is welcome; automated mass extraction is not.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its servers, databases or connected systems.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Transmit viruses, malware or any other malicious code.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation.
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications.
  • Interfere with other users' enjoyment of the Service.

5. Intellectual property

5.1 QueenDash content

The QueenDash name, logo, interface design, original written content and software code are owned by QueenDash and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works without our written permission.

5.2 Third-party data

Rating data is sourced from FIDE (Fédération Internationale des Échecs) official publications. Game scores are sourced from Lichess broadcasts and other public chess databases. These are subject to their respective terms. Stockfish is used under the GNU GPL v3 licence.

5.3 Your content

You retain ownership of any content you submit (e.g. linked usernames). By submitting it, you grant QueenDash a limited licence to use it solely to provide the Service to you.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.
  • Rating data, game results or analysis will be 100% accurate or up to date.
  • Any defects will be corrected within a specific timeframe.

Chess rating data depends on FIDE's official monthly publications; live data depends on third-party sources outside our control.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, QueenDash and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or the Service shall not exceed €50 (or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, if greater).

8. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We may also update these terms; the updated date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain and the European Union. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Spain, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules applicable in your country of residence.
